First Christian Church is an Independent Christian Church that has been ministering to the community of Council Bluffs, IA for nearly 130 years. Founded on the principles of the Restoration Movement, we remain faithful to God’s Word as we share the hope of Jesus with our community and the surrounding area.
As a multi-generation church, First Christian offers three weekend services, two held in a relaxed gymnasium setting with modern worship music and one in an intimate chapel setting featuring traditional hymns. Growth experiences for children and students are held on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Life Groups for adults meet throughout the week as an opportunity to grow and encourage one another. Opportunities to share compassion are regularly provided as we seek to be extraordinary neighbors in our city.
First Christian is currently led by a team of six elders, along with six full time ministers, four part-time ministry leaders, and operational and administrative staff. Together this team is focused on honoring God and reaching our community with the message that “Hope is for everyone”.
